You're good!

Let's see if we can get a small group together.

I'm up for it!

Hi Nikolai,

your image 3374, for example, may look good in that cross hatch thing you were doing, in particular if you get some colour as a colour wash. It may take a time to get there, but could well be worth it.

Best wishes,

Ray

Hi Nikolai,

http://nik.smugmug.com/photos/43238598-L.jpg but I now see the car in the background, so maybe clone a cart over it, but there are others. I was thinking of the illustrations I may have seen, old engravings, etc.

Best wishes,

Ray

I guess you weren't fond of http://nik.smugmug.com/photos/44203373-L.jpg

I will look at that kneeled men shot you've mentioned:-)

Cheers!

Ray,

I was too lazy to remove the car, so I picked up another shot to try my cross-hatch action on.

Hope this will do:-)

HI Nik,

I can not recollect the photo you mentioned, but smugmug seems to be under repair at the moment, I'll look later on.

Best wishes,

Ray

Hi Nik,

Yes its visible now- I never saw the first when I looked before, maybe that would be a good engraving, too. The one you tried is good, it looks almost like a field sketch, except the lhs seems much darker, but thats OK. I was thinking more on the lines of your second daughter one, as compared to the first one. I don't know how it would look combined with a pale water colour effect, but I think the colour washes would need to be not fitted to the outlines, if you know what I mean. Thanks for sharing, I may experiment for myself.

Best wishes,

Ray

Nik,

I missed this versioning of yours in your cross-hatch rendering action!

This is wonderful and reminds me of a civil war print. This would be great for hand coloring with water colors!

It would then sell as original mixed media art. I like it. As I have said before you are creative.

I still would love to see a version of your action with ability to add dots instead of cross hatching then one could do two layers and selectively blend.

Anyway, I value this path you are developing.

Asher

It's this weekend. I'm going Saturday.

They added another link to my pics, now on their official photolinks site: http://www.48ovvi.org/moorpark2005/
I got 5,000 hits yesterday alone:-)
No sales, though:-(
But maybe after this one - people tend to buy more fresh pictures that the old ones:-)

Thanks, Asher!
I'll call you tomorrow night.
Yes, it's open Sunday, too, but it's only a half day. Besides, some participants may start leaving early, it may be not as "fresh" as Saturday, etc.

I am probably going on Sunday when it opens since my interest in shooting is not necessarily to shoot the battles, but the participants closer up. Nik, your shots are well done. Congratulations on being linked to your site.

As the wife of a Rotartian, this is a fund raiser for the Newbury Park Rotary Club. They use the funds for supporting their efforts within the local community and the world as a whole to make it a better place. Their primary function is to eradicate polio, but, there are many causes that they champion.

I've missed Sunday (was busy processing my Saturday plunder:-), did you get any to share?
