Hi, Mike,

Welcome aboard.

I was at Woodland Cemetery a couple of days ago and took a couple of shots. Opinions welcome.

Thanks.

Nice images - almost look like photographs.

[That's my snotty way of saying it looks as if you might have used HDR processing techniques for something it wasn't intended for. I personally don't like that kind of result for general photo work.]

What part of Idaho is this in?

[That's my snotty way of saying it would have been nice to have some info as to where Woodland Cemetery is.]

Best regards,

Doug

I don't get it either.

The second one is kind of odd - all the tone mapping and global contrast supression has done is removed the sense of scale and presence. The Ashworth monument (?) feels like it has been cut out and dropped in from elsewhere.

I'm not sure if that was your intent or not, just feels awkward.

I guess that you likely won't be familiar with photographers like Trey Ratcliff who many follow for just that reason - that he produces HDR results from general photo work. You may not personally value it - but it doesn't mean that that style isn't valued. Why be "snotty"? - http://www.stuckincustoms.com/
