This is a fascinating do it yourself pdf for an 8x10 scanning back under $200 with all the millions of pixels ever needed and then some more.
Down side? probably that needs to be plugged to the wall, and you have to become a mad scientist.

That is exactly what I said to myself. He could do it. Imagine a Kodak No2 with a scanning back.
I think that someone could eve make a production consumer scanner of 3D objects... and best yet, one with batteries.

I took a look at this and immediately wondered if I could strip the guts out of that minolta slide scanner that never gets used in my studio and fit it to my leica r8....
