I think this is my first image posted but I regularly follow this forum. Hope it works.

Guess I did it incorrectly as all I can view is the red X
So I will post a direct link now.

Hi Bev,
For some reason, pbase.com is not allowing direct linking to get the image to be inserted. Maybe someone can work around it. Also you need to have a suffix like ".jpg" at the end of your url. Unfortunately this doesnt work now for pbase.

Thanks Asher. I can direct link on the other forum I visit. I don't understand why it does not work here. However, in my second post in this thread, I did provide a direct link to the photo and would like comments. It works because I tried it.
Thanks Bev

I host at Pbase too and was having problems with the forums and linking. It was user error, I am afraid.
You can't right click and copy the properties. There are two ways to link from pbase:
One:
You have to go and copy the address from the address bar and then when you link here you add the .jpg at the end of your link.
or Two:
Double click on the picture within pbase - there will be a direct linking address in the upper corner - copy and paste here in the image box.

Thank you Janet and Steve.
Being unable to direct link was my error. I had direct link disabled on some of my galleries because sometimes there was as many as 30 direct links to photos that I had not posted anywhere. So I became paranoid. I have it fixed now and I am sorry to have caused a problem here.

Hi Bev and Kathy,
Thanks for working this out. To anyone else who can't see the butterfly, clear your browsers cache and then reload this page!
