Nik,

I assume these were with the noise reduction turned on. Did you use noise ninja or anything else .

At 3200 you must not have used anything but ambient light.

Pretty impressive performance for the 40D I would say.

High ISO Noise reduction was, in fact, turned ON. And yes, it was available light only (given it was SoCal noon:)

There was still some noise, but nothing that few sweeps in ACR4.2 and PS CS3 wouldn't handle:)
