Hi All,
Nice to be a part of this.
I've just opened a new photography studio in Blyth, Northumberland in the NE of England. We specialise in family portraits, but are taking any thing we can get until the studio gets known. I'm looking forward to joining in with the forum.

Hi Mark,

Welcome to OPF and good luck on your new enterprise. I visited your website. It shows your work well. The design is so clean and pleasant. I would have friends check loading times of images in the galleries with different software (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari etc) as loading appeared to be about 20-40 seconds or more for the little icons to show as the small images.

The presentation is so beautiful and restrained. however, I wonder whether your flash programmer can "push" the content to preload as people might just be turned off is what I found applies genrerally, which it may not.

Likely it's just my hotel connection in New York City. Just the same it's good to check!

Again welcome!

Asher

BTW, the pictures shows are they film or digital?

Hi Mark

Welcome to OPF. I've never been to Blyth, but know all the usual places in Northumberland, Alnwick, Bamburgh, Holy Island, Farne Islands etc., nice part of the country, in fact we may be going to the Farne's this spring. Nice to have you here.....

Mark,

Last time I tried it worked fine. You did a great job at keeping things simple. All that your website has to do is say, hello, I am professional, reliable will deliver this quality work without any if's or buts.

It is very important for all of us to make the selections and not dump all our shoots on to the web and just overwhelm people. If we cannot decide what is the very best, then others might just move on. In general, about 8-15 in a series is all that is needed to get the point across. For a bride, a sample album is a worthwhile idea where more pics can be used. That can even be online. However, keeping the interface simple and clean is key.

You have done that very well.

Kudos! We in OPF wish you success!

Asher
