Sleeper

This is week-end. Business offices are empty, employees and crowd of the week are gone.
There's only one man left, who's sleeping beside of the closed restaurant.
Who is he ? Homeless or someone who want to enjoy the sun ? We don't know...

A great concept. The color however of the building distracts. I'd consider making the image B&W and then making him, the double doors behind him, the bench and the 3 trees in front of him sharp and with good contrast.

Also the three lines in the concrete radiating from his bench! Try that in color and B&W and see how they look. That would be my suggestion if you have an opening of a few minutes to explore. Not that your picture is really flawed, (after all it's your idea and expression), rather that these are other ways of showing your idea.

I don't know which one i prefer : colour was supposed to evoke artficial environment, W&B effet is very different.

Hum, i am thinking about use of colour in this kind of picture...
Asher, what do you think about this other one shot at the same place and at the same time (very colorfull and artificial too, in a volunteer way) :

the B&W I'd now crop just above the cloud on the left and just below the tree on the right.

In the next vertical image, the color of the sky is powerfully matched by the color of the building. It shows of the Architecture nicely and would work as part of a series in a magazine if there were more people. I'd consider using this for the left half of a composite or painting, picking up the colors for the right. I keep such pictures for subsequent compositions.

Well, i really like this one, thank you Asher.

This is much more in line with your concept. The horizontal format of the picture now matches his lying down and provides calm. The plants on the right and the lines in the ground lead towards him.

In such work, we have the possibilities to share out importance and relevance by such conceits as shading light versus dark, sharp lines, leading the eye, shapes and patterns like the trees on the right, pointing to what's important.

The mind does all these things, evaluating the significance of each component for value and attention or not. By our own tricks in edits, we can guide the brain to the ideas we wish the picture to carry to the viewer.

You're welcome. I think it's nice, sometimes, to do a kind of workshop, a common work around a picture.
