this is fantastic. I just really like the composition and color in this.

Are they mirrors? Whatever they are its neat how they are all lined up for some unknown purpose like a secret concert will be held there @ night that noone knows about or something like that.. very cool

I know everyone is serious. It must be my lack of education. I don't understand that this is art. But I believe the emperor is without clothing.

Hi David and Nathaniel,

Well, two very opposite feelings here...

David, they are new plexiglass doors with their packaging, on a construction site. I was interested by contrast between yellow stripes and blue reflection of the sky on these doors.

I believe the emperor is without clothing

Nathaniel, could you explain more your remark ? In french, this expression is quite violent and i would like to understand your feelings... The only thing i regret in this picture is the post-production in PS which is not good enough (ie color noise to be reduced).

Cedric,

There is a common expression in the US, to the effect that when you are in a hole, to stop digging. So, keep in mind I have no violent intent at all. My feelings were in response to "this is fantastic. I just really like the composition and color in this" declaration of David Sommars which I felt was well over the top. I have (and am glad) to admit that I like your work very much. I always see where you are going with your picture studies and work, admirable, thoughtful and imaginative, even if it sometimes falls a little short of perfection. In this case, I thought you must have been taken with the quality of the light and the contrasting yellow and blue colors. But the lighting comes through as harsh, too contrasty and not atmospheric. And I thought the composition was not as strong as many of your other works, a bit cluttered and more documentary than evocative.

So, perhaps the average of the two feelings expressed here comes closer to a balanced critique.

With good feelings

Nat,

I really thank you for what you say. As a matter of fact, in french we have a quite similar expression which says "le Roi est nu" (litterally "king is naked") but which has a very pejorative and critical sense. In french, when you say "king is naked" about something, it means that it has only good appearance which fools some people but very poor content. So, i thought you were talking about that and it could have been justified...

I really appreciate what you say, because it is sincere and, i believe, true : some of my pictures suffer from a lack of quality and this one belongs to this category. Original one is more equilibrated, i think i have done bad work in PS.

However, i am very glad that you like my work, it helps me to go on ;)

With your opinions, David and Nat, i think i got a good direction to follow my work on this picture.

Cedric.
