This intrigued me. The idea of going through a dark place into the light: basic plot of many fairy tales.

Doug, I like this pic. These sort of images make me better appreciate the interplay of light and shade.
may I suggest that the end of the tunnel ( the lit area ) be darkened slightly to bring out the daylight
colors more.

please let me know how it would go.

Charlotte: I did, actually. Her answer was something like my original sense of the shot: an archetypal hero's journey that goes under the earth for an ordeal and then emerges into the light. E.g.; throwing away the ring in Lord of the Rings, Christ's descent into hell for three days, Orpheus leading Euridice out of the underworld, Dante's descent into Hell and then his ascension through Purgatory and Paradise.
