The "Wired" product review site has reviewed the ColorRight white balance tool:
http://www.wired.com/reviews/product/color_right_review
Their review discusses its use in the "from the camera position" mode of setting a custom white balance for in-camera correction (a mode that for the ColorRight, by virtue of its relatively narrow acceptance pattern, can perhaps be justifiably called the "reflected light" mode).
We continue to be amazed by the often-useful result that can apparently be attained in this mode, since it of course has only a random prospect of actually letting the camera determine the chromaticity of the incident illumination on the subject (which we boffins believe - silly us - is what is needed to do classical white balance color correction).
