Jaime,

Makes me sorry about selling my 300 mm f2.8L! now do you have the IS version?

I'm equally impressive even though the bird is not fully mature! Seems at max handsomeness to me anyway. Is this male or female and what's the give away clue? What tells you its level of growth? Do the downy ? feathers clinging to the branch mean anything or are these meal left-overs?

I think the fuzz in the branch is just aspen bark.

This bird is 3.5 years old (according to a key I have) - the black bar behind the eye and the tail with dark on the tips are the tip off!

Female Eagles are usually 1/3 larger than the males.

What a beautiful bird. How far away was it?

We have quite a few here but when I see them either I'm not ready or I don't have the camera with me. I had one fly not more than 20 feet over my head while I was changing lenses.
