Photography is often coupled with music, and in any event, those with an interest in photography often come into contact with the matter of MIDI, the Musical Instrument Digital Interface.
This topic goes far beyond the interface proper, comprising an entire paradigm of the digital representation of music in note-oriented (as contrasted to waveform-oriented) form. There are many layers to the entire story, each with their own standards and conventions.
