I was in the Lake District last week, and visited the owl sanctuary at Muncaster. It's rather sad to see them in captivity, although the cages are big enough to allow flight and contain as natural a habitat as possible. The wire netting makes photography rather difficult, but a few shots came out reasonably well.
All taken with a 350D + 70-200 f/4 L IS (a new purchase and I love it) @ f4.
Owl with hangover.
The Yoda of the owl world.
Thank goodness for this piece of wood. I might have fallen off my perch otherwise.
Not an owl (a red kite), but what beautiful plumage.
Regards,
Stuart
