"As a registered user you can use the Online Profiler for free during the BETA period.
You are the owner of a measurement device.
Why should you use the Online Profiler?
1. Your software package only allows you to make one kind of ICC profile, for example RGB printer profiles. But you need a CMYK profile or vice versa.
2. By now you are using your measurement device for linearisation and checkup. Now you want to write your own profiles.
3. You don't have a measurement device and just want to make a few profiles. Then our "Rent a spectro" opportunity and the Online Profiler are the answer to this question.
4. You want to take advantage of the enhanced gamut maping and enhanced appearance model options of the Online Profiler."
Interesting are the options for perceptual gamut mapping. All other softwares like MonacoProfiler and Profilemaker e.g., make a silent assumption on source gamut.
The Online Profiler allows to specify the following presets, quote from their forum:
"In our Online Profiler you can find three different presets for the gamut mapping.
They represent the source gamuts.
1. Default:
Weighted averaging of sRGB, AppleRGB, and GenericRGB (Apple) with a sRGB TRC
2. Enhanced:
Weighted averaging of AdobeRGB and ECI RGB v2 with a L* TRC
3. Big:
Pro Photo RGB with a L* TRC
But this 3 presets are only the half way to our perceptual rendering.
Not less important is the possibility to use the CIECAM02 appearance model, which can be found under "viewing conditions"."
