Removing original text, (at least by an administrator), does not remove that text in subsequent posts, if that was quoted already. This implies that quoting does not work by linking to the original text, but acts simply as "copy and paste" with added quote syntax.

I realised that this was the way it worked a while back Asher. You quoted my post and then subsequently edited out an adjective in it but it remained in your quote.
