Sex sells. It is used by media to make money. Why does that work? Because reproduction is the principal goal of the estimated one trillion species of life forms currently occupying the planet. Why would anyone want to make a fuss about that?
Peter,
You are correct, it is expected, given the sex drive of all species.
I personally celebrate the female form.
I have no issue with a man or a woman being used for lurtng folk to buy stuff. It's entertaining ans as long as the model is not humiated and is working within their comfort zone and is paid, then that is fine. It is no different from a PH.D. in chemistry working for a pharaceutical firm to design lipstick as compared to doing whst he was trained for, makeing drigs to cure human disease. Both are a form of repurposing ones gifts.
However, we do have a porblem with crass, un negotiiated and unpaid for exploitation, all outside of the permission and worht of the vicitim of harassment.
However, having said that, all the complaints I have posted in connection with the first picture of Brooke as an anchor, being "used", are really dwarfed in importance to the real serious matters involving men mistreating women. Although TV and entertainlent exploits are inappororiate, the socaial damage is limited because the women are mature adults, They may be woulded and suffer, for sure, but they have the rtools to comprehend what has happened.
The real issues are far more devastating for the groups that are vicitimized.
In truth the biggest issue is trafficing of minors from poor countries to rich countires for forms of slavery and, at least in the USA, (and likely elsewhere), of sexual exploitation of the 65% of the daughters of single mothers who cannot seem to protect their daughters from being ravaged.
The rest is just the luxury of an over indulgant society and hardlly of the same measure of social concern we should have compared to the rape of vulnerable women from poor backgrounds and unprotected young girls in single mother households.
