The dilemma of "progress" is the spread of one power over a "new land". This theme is old. The raids of the Norsemen in Europe the Europeans in the American and African continents are well known. Where the local population is controlled consumed or subverted, the folk walk around spouting the theologies of the invaders.
What's not widely known is that vast areas of ethnically divers areas of China, far from Beijing are in torment, the influx of Chines Hun and their industries making locals minorities in the larger great cities there. The riots and confrontations have ranged from peaceful to blood lust. The Chinese authorities have acted with force but sometimes with pragmatic fairness as a great colonial power must do.
If anyone has photographs, please share as there are not a lot of photographers who have been permitted to cover stories.
Here's a link worthy of your interest. I do hope we have people who can contribute pictures to let us know more of this area.
