Challenge: "A Door Tie": How might you bring out further expression in this image?

I'm not sure what to call this but it is a length of string that would hold open a window (or door) in a traditional Korean house.
All comments welcome.

Contax 645, 80mm lens, Ilford Delta 100 film, scan of a print I did myself in the darkroom.

Very nice. Elegant and spare. A nice contrast of textures; smooth and rough. Nice use of the shadows to provide transition between light and dark.

I really like this. Impressed! The right white vertical strip of super-bright (and beyond that), could be pulled down a little. Also I'd consider careful selection of the rope and sharpening.

Asher, you're right about the strip of white that needs to be darkened a bit. The slightly soft rope might be a result of my cheap scanner.
