Default Microsoft Rumored to Buy Adobe

Late today at about 2:45 to 3:00 pm Eastern, Adobe (ADBE) began climbing in price--over 10% rise--as rumors circulated that Microsoft (MSFT) might be interested in acquiring Adobe.

The Wall Street Journal threw cold water on the story today. Adobe was down 6% after being up 10-11% yesterday. Thus, traders' conviction for a takeover has lessened.

I couldn't even imagine Adobe wanting to have Microsoft buy them out. Next thing there would be commercials from Apple attacking Photoshop to support the use of Aperture.

If they did it would mean the end of Adobe software as viable products!
