Default To a successful bottom line!

This new room is to exchange experience and ideas on getting images to the public and clients. It also includes insurance, business models from getting clients to methods of payment and protecting the artistic rights of photographers.

I hope this new forum proves a useful and important asset to photographers!

Asher

Thumbs up

What a great idea for a forum. Many artists and photographers really need to share experience on marketing and putting their work out there. I guess this would include the vastly growing and competitive online stock photography market, which currently dominates the industry?

Personally, I am aghast at the many ultra cheap $1 stock sites, and have heard of complete freebies too. Where does that leave the discerning traditional photographer or the commission profession? How do we compete?

I will be watching this forum with interest.

Actually, there is a thirst for good photographic art that can be on the walls of private homes, in collections and in commercial buildings, lawyers offices, hotels etc.

However, quality, contacts, perserverance, luck and more are all needed!

Stock must be very hard work!

Hi Asher. It's all hard work whichever way I try!!

Sales have mattered to me, and although I try to sell through photographic art lines, I have had so few sales locally, online or through targetting collectors or possible commercial buildings. Most of my sales have been through specialist online stock sites (as opposed to the main player general stock sites - you get lost in the search engines).
